Mitsui Chemicals Inc is one of the largest chemical companies in Japan. It was established in 1997 via a merger between Mitsui Petrochemical and Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals. Our innovative technologies and materials, along with products that offer new functionality, are being used for a wide range of fields such as automotive, electronics and information, life, environment and energy, and packaging in our society.
Our integrated phenol-BPA complex in Sakra, Mitsui Phenols Singapore Pte Ltd was set up in 1999. It is now Mitsui's largest overseas phenol-BPA site. Mitsui Elastomers Singapore Pte Ltd has recently doubled the capacity of its TAFMER™ elastomers facilities to 200,000 M/T per year by building another plant in Ayer Merbau. Mitsui Chemicals Asia Pacific Ltd is the headquarter to manage company's operations in ASEAN, South Asia, Middle East and Oceania. Our first overseas R&D centre was also set up in 2006, in collaboration with Singapore's research institutes.
