Principal Process Engineers (Toa Payoh) Responsibilities:
- Responsible for carrying out all necessary facilities engineering design functions required for concept development, FEED, and detail engineering to design and/or specify concepts, facilities, process equipment and systems for upstream oil and gas production development.
- Responsible for development of process simulation models using programs such as HYSYS, process design basis, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P and IDs), process safeguarding diagram, flare radiation and dispersion calculations, equipment and line sizing calculations, system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment such as vessels, towers, heat exchangers, pumps, major equipment and instrument process data sheets, operating philosophy and operating manual, etc.
- Has administrative and technical responsibility for engineering and economic studies, and process designs and specifications of process and utility systems.
- Responsible for all process activities, development of CTR, detailed list of deliverables, activities and their schedules, based on the project scope of work. Provide input to planning department as necessary for development of schedules, progress reporting etc.
- Plan manpower and resources based on the project schedule.
- Plan, organize and direct all aspects of process engineering work on the assigned project.
- Review scope of work, attend kick-off meeting and highlight any major concerns at the outset of the project by apprising the Project Engineering Manager / Project Engineers. Take appropriate initiatives to address the issues.
- Co-ordination and management of the assigned Discipline Engineers and Designers to ensure adequate staffing, technical quality, timely work performance and schedules and budgets established are maintained.
- Review the work of the personnel assigned to him/her for adequacy, technical quality and fit for purpose.
- Co-ordination of design requirements with other Disciplines, Groups within JRM, Customers and the vendors.
- Review and approval of all documents produced by his/her team and ensuring that the single discipline/inter-discipline checking is carried out as per the Company procedures.
- Provide process assistance to other disciplines by performing IDC / providing inputs as required for Layout review, Area classification drawings, Safety studies, Electrical load list, Equipment data sheets, Instrument datasheets, ESD and F&G logic diagrams and control narratives, Technical co-ordination with outside agencies for third party studies.
- Assisting procurement personnel in procuring equipment, material and services through participation in vendor selection for various equipment, provide inputs to RFQ, TBE, participate in discussions with the equipment vendors along with package engineers and provide input for purchase spec preparation
- Monitor changes in scope and raise change notifications
- Preparing estimates for equipment and activities as required, when potential work scope changes occur
- Assist in close-out of HAZID/HAZOP action points.
- Participate in HAZAN, HAZID and other safety / operability / reliability studies and workshops.
- Provide technical assistance on site during fabrication, hook-up, commissioning and start-up as required.
- Keep the Senior Principal Process Engineer appraised of activities and concerns.
- Establish and maintain technical and professional standards within his/her team and ensuring that the work complies with Company objectives and procedures.
- Work together with the Process Engineering Supervisor in training and development of other process engineers.
Requirements: - Posses at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Posses more than 15 years of experience in process engineering design.
- With min 8 years of applicable experience in process design and construction of offshore oil & gas production platforms and facilities.
- Experience in EPCI work environment preferred.
- At least 2 years as a Principal Process Engineer on a large integrated production platforms. Capable of leading process design team on small to medium size projects or areas within larger projects.
- Specialized knowledge of process design techniques and analysis methods is a basic requirement for this position.
