R&D Senior Scientist (Biological Processes Techncial Leader) - IA WT
Responsibilities:
- Manages multiple research projects in biological water and wastewater treatment including aerobic, anoxic, anaerobic processes (suspended solids, fixed film, membrane bioreactors)
- Ensures achievement of project objectives (technical and commercial) within the timeline
- Applies sound and diverse knowledge of scientific principles or practices in broad array of assignments
- Performs analysis and technical interpretation, organization / preparation of technical reports and presentation of research results from R&D projects and pilot / field studies with customers
- Evaluates, selects and applies scientific techniques, procedures and criteria using judgement in making adaptation of standard methods and techniques
- Creates innovative solutions for complex problems, creates and identifies patentable intellectual property and contributes to stewardship of IP portfolio in biological treatment processes
- Determines and manages team resources on assigned projects to meet R&D objectives
- Responsible for maintaining the quality of the research project within the framework of Siemens Innovation Process
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a PhD. In Chemical / Biological / Environmental Engineering or a closely related field
- At least 10 years in a similar capacity with specific experience in biological water and wastewater treatment and processes based on microbiology
- Expertise in advanced aerobic and anaerobic wastewater treatment plant processes; enhanced nutrient removal, bio-solids management, waste to energy conversion, MBR processes
- High level of expertise in biological treatment process simulation, modeling and automation
- Knowledge of scientific methodologies, project management and control
- Familiarity with computational fluid dynamic applications in bioprocess analysis
- Corporate Research and Development or Innovation Role
- Must possess leadership skills and drive to manage a project team
- Posses initiative, creativity and ability to analyze
- Able to work in a culturally diverse environment
- International travel is required
