With a number of offices in the Asia Pacific Region, BEC is a market leader in this highly-specialised field, with an impressive track record. Due to our rapid expansion, we are now looking for the right candidates to join our team as:

Safety Manager
West

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, monitor, implement procedures, make safety recommendations, actively promote, collate and disseminate safety data to the site.
  • Member/Chair of Safety Committee.
  • Establishes policies and procedures designed to promote worker health and safety as well as ensures compliance with applicable regulations and reviews safety documentation (policy/procedures and plans) regularly.
  • Review methods and evaluate site processes and equipment regularly to determine controls required to keep workplace safe.
  • Ensure the projects act and think homogeneously as a company with regards to safety, rather than as a separate entity.
  • To visit sites regularly to conduct Safety Audits.
  • Formalized weekly safety reporting mechanism to HQ.
  • Reviews Safety Reports with follow-up actions sent to all sites promptly.
  • Compiles safety statistics.
  • Investigates incident / accidents on site to determine rood cause and implement corrective / preventive actions.
  • Identify and implement training needs so that workers understand safe work procedures and are competent to safely carry out their assigned duties.
  • Assess competence of safety staff.
Working Location: Singapore with regional responsibilities.  Frequent travel would be required predominantly in South Asian countries including Middle East and other countries as required.
 
Reporting to: CEO / Managing Director

Requirements:

  • At least 5-10 years experience at management level relating to safety
  • Sound knowledge of safety management principles and practices
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to relate to all levels, both inside and outside the organization
  • Good organizational ability
  • Able to work independently
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of MS Office

Qualification: Degree or Diploma relating to occupational health and safety
