10 Tech Companies in Singapore Actively Hiring In 2022

Tech is on the rise, and Singapore is fast carving its identity as Southeast Asia's technological hub and the "Silicon Valley of Asia". That’s because of its advanced information and communications technology (ICT) market, rich innovation culture, and strong intellectual property laws.

No wonder more multinational companies and start-ups are looking towards the city-state as a tech powerhouse and as one of the world's most attractive locations conducive for expansion, as it is brimming with skilled tech professionals.

It's no surprise that some of the globe's biggest tech firms and start-ups are beefing up their operations and manpower by actively hiring in Singapore in 2022. If you're looking for new and exciting career opportunities, you're in luck. Here are some top choices for tech companies and start-ups to work at, as Singapore earns greater recognition from the global tech community.

1. Amazon

American multinational tech company Amazon has opened 110 roles to serve its different corporate and business functions. Since its launch in Singapore in October 2019, it has created approximately 2,000 full-time and part-time jobs.

In October 2021, it launched the SIN16, its new office located at Asia Square in Marina Bay. The three-story headquarters spans more than 100,000 square feet and has a 700-employee capacity.

In 2021, Amazon landed fifth on a list of Singapore's Best Employers. The ranking was based on how many employees were willing to recommend their company as a place of work to family and friends. Employees were also asked to evaluate Amazon on its salary offerings and conduciveness to work-life balance.

2. Aspire

Since it was founded in 2018 by former Lazada executives, Aspire has become a leading all-in-one business finance operating system in Southeast Asia. Aspire is actively hiring professionals for its engineering, product, design, management, sales, marketing, and operations departments to enhance its growth.

Outside Singapore, Circles.Life has a 45-member strong global marketing and growth team situated in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Asia, and Taiwan.

4. Coinhako

It has opened jobs in Singapore for roles such as accounts executive, data analyst, data engineer, marketing and content executive, marketing intern, product manager, and UI/UX designer.

In November 2021, Coinhako got in-principle approval from Singapore's Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to offer digital payment token services, making it the first local non-bank crypto platform to get such approval.

Telemedicine application and regional health and wellness company Doctor Anywhere is hiring an additional 200 staff by end-2022, primarily medical roles such as clinic assistants, doctors, and nurses, to tech roles such as engineers and product managers.

Doctor Anywhere was founded in 2017 with less than 20 workers now helps 2.5 million people in Southeast Asia. As of January 2022, Doctor Anywhere has around 450 regional employees across Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and it plans to start operating in Indonesia soon.

It's looking for medical professionals who are passionate about providing accessible and affordable health care and creating a positive impact amid and beyond the pandemic.

6. Dyson

British-founded electronics company Dyson is hiring around 140 people in Singapore to fill in roles from interns, design engineers, finance and HR personnel, robotics research engineers and software engineers, to executive positions.

In April 2021, Dyson announced its plans on getting 250 engineers and scientists over the next five years to work on AI, energy storage, machine learning, power electronics, robotics, sensors, vision systems, among other fields.

7. Grab

Southeast Asian technology company Grab is opening up 350 jobs in Singapore by the end of 2022. The said job openings will fill roles in AI, business development, cybersecurity, data science, design, finance, legal, operations, product management, public affairs, and software engineering.

Apart from Singapore, Grab currently operates in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. In the second quarter of 2021, Grab had over 24 million active users throughout Southeast Asia.

9. Razer

Global lifestyle gaming brand Razer is hiring more than 100 people to fill in roles such as content operations lead, engineers, global product PR manager, and product marketing. Razer recently opened its $100 million 19,300 square-meter Southeast Asia office at Singapore's one-north technology and business park. Currently, the company has 600 employees but is beefing this headcount to 1,000.

Founded in 2005, Razer now has 18 offices globally and is considered the number one gaming brand in China, Europe, and the US. Employees who are gamers themselves will find the work exciting, being at the forefront of video-gaming technologies.

10. TikTok

ByteDance, the Chinese multinational internet technology company behind the video-sharing platform, is hiring 3,000 engineers in Canada, Singapore, the US, and Europe over the next three years as it expands globally. Currently, Singaporeans can check out 500 job openings from departments, such as finance, HR, operations, research and development, and sales and marketing.

TikTok Singapore received a "Great Place To Work" certification good for September 2021 to September 2022. "Great Place To Work" is a data-based model which surveys employees globally to recognise great workplaces. Companies get certified when employees "trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with."
