What's it like to be an Investment Analyst?
An Investment Analyst conducts research, gathers information, and analyses financial assets like stocks, bonds, and securities to provide guidance to clients on their investments. They typically study data from documents such as financial statements and follow developments in the local economy as well as in the global market.

Investment Analysts are different from Financial Analysts as Financial Analysts encompass a broader scope of analysis. While they may share similar roles or responsibilities, Investment Analysts tend to focus more on investment opportunities.
How to become an Investment Analyst
To work as an Investment Analyst, formal education is required.
Attain a bachelor degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or statistics. Having certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or as a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) is advantageous.
Seek internships in the financial industry.
Master the use of research databases and market intelligence platforms such as Bloomberg, CapIQ, or MI.
Gain experience in financial services in an accounting or consultancy role.
Explore taking up further studies and attaining a masters degree in business administration, finance, or quantitative finance.
