What's it like to be a Trainer?
Trainers teach students or trainees and provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve certain qualifications, licences, certifications or accreditations. After providing learning materials and training, Trainers evaluate their students’ performance against certain competencies and identify gaps in learning. They ensure their course or curriculum caters to the needs of students.

- Preparing engaging courses and learning material for students.
- Assessing the skills of students against certain competencies or frameworks.
- Recording student progress throughout the course programme.
- Keeping records of student assessments and results.
- Staying updated with industry trends and qualifications.
How to become a Trainer
While not essential, a qualification relating to the subject area you wish to teach can prepare you for a career as a Trainer.
Complete a polytechnic qualification or university degree in the field you wish to teach.
Acquire a Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Certificate in the Training and Adult Education Framework.
Aim for a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment.
