What's it like to be a Payroll Administrator?
Payroll Administrators are responsible for processing payroll while adhering to tax and legal requirements. They verify and ensure the accuracy of all employee data, manage employee benefits and deductions, and handle any payroll-related inquiries. Additionally, they work with the HR and the finance team to ensure the accuracy of payroll-related data, documents, and reports.

How to become a Payroll Administrator
To become a Payroll Administrator, you must obtain at least a bachelor degree in accounting or human resources. You must have a strong knowledge of both HR and accounting fundamentals.
Complete a bachelor degree in accounting, HR, or a similar field.
Start in an entry-level position, such as an HR Assistant or Payroll Assistant, to learn the essential skills and familiarise yourself with the payroll regulatory framework of Singapore.
Consider adding to your credentials a certification or master's degree to show your commitment to self-learning and growth. A certificate in payroll administration or a master's degree in business administration may be an advantage.
Seek senior roles in the leadership track, such as a Payroll Manager or a Compensation and Benefits Manager, to widen your responsibilities.
